Blog Tour / Giveaway: Country Affairs by Zara Stoneley

Today I'm excited to be kicking off the blog tour for Country Affairs, the second book in the Tippermere series by Zara Stoneley. I absolutely love this series! Read on to find out more,
and don't forget to enter the giveaway!

About the Book
'A great treat for readers who love their books jam-packed with sexy men and horses.' Bestselling author Fiona Walker

It’s time to get back in the saddle with the follow up to the deliciously naughty Stable Mates!

Swapping her spurs for stilettoes and becoming Lady of the Manor is not on loveable, but scatty, Lottie’s life plan. Nor does she have the faintest idea how to rescue it from rack and ruin. But with footballer’s wife Sam on the case, determined to bring glamour to the manor, and fun-loving eventer Rory egging them on, nothing can possibly go wrong, can it?

Todd never forgave himself for abandoning Lottie on a Barcelona beach, but now he’s tracked her down and he’s ready to kiss and make up. With a roving eye and his roguish grin he soon has more than one girl in Tippermere going weak at the knees, but why is he really there?

With wedding plans going awry, unexpected pregnancies and relationships starting to look rocky, will Lottie ever be ready to accept her inheritance and help Tipping House Estate move into the 21st Century?

Praise for Stable Mates –

'A delightful romp peppered with humour, sadness, scandal and steamy sex.'

'...reminded me of Jilly Cooper whose books I grew up with. Stable Mates is up there with Riders and Rivals. If you loved these books then you will love this one'

'...the perfect mix of horsey shenanigans, Cheshire glamour and flirty fun.'

'...reminded me of the Tilly Bagshawe novels I love, with all the scandal and drama. I don’t think I’ve read another author who writes in that kind of style without finding negative comparisons but Zara Stoneley comes into her own'

'a really impressive read.'

'Fun, Frothy & a Good Weekend Read'

'An unexpected FUN read that should not be missed by anyone. I would say I laughed at almost every page! '

Review
I adored the first book in the Tippermere series, Stable Mates, and so I jumped at the chance to read and review the sequel - I couldn't wait to find out what happened to the characters next! I wasn't disappointed! This series has a wonderful cast of characters, both human and animal, and they are just so much fun to read! As a country girl myself I can completely relate to Lottie - right down to the mismatched socks and untamed hair - it's all part of country living!

Unfortunately in my village I don't have quite the same options as Lottie when it comes to men. I'm quite picky when it comes to book boyfriends, so to find myself in love with not just one but TWO gorgeous men was a delight! On the one hand we have the dark and handsome (and Irish!) farrier Mick, on the other the cheeky and carefree eventer Rory. I found myself completely torn between the two of them - and right up until the last chapter I couldn't decide which one of them I wanted Lottie to end up with. But the ending was just so perfect that it couldn't have happened any other way, and it left me with a huge smile on my face.

There is a real sense of community about these books, as all of the characters pull together - be it for a wedding, a cricket match, or to save Tipping House Estate. Each character has their own important role to play; to name but a few there's Pip, the journalist who is slowly tiring of life in the slow lane, Sam, the footballer's wife with a heart of gold, 'bronco' Billy Brinkley, Lottie's grumpy but loveable father, and Tab, the teenage goth turned horse groomer with a shameless crush on Rory. As always though, the best lines in the novel fall to Lady Elizabeth Stanthorpe - Lottie's grandmother. Rarely seen without a G&T and her beloved labradors, she makes it her business to know everything that goes on in Tippermere, whilst orchestrating a fair few dramas herself!

It's worth stating that this book can be read as a standalone - there's a handy cast list at the start to let you know who's who, and plenty of recap of what happened in the previous book. However I would highly recommend reading Stable Mates first for the true Tippermere experience! The informal style of writing endears you to the characters - I feel as if I know them as well as I know my friends in real life - and I don't want their stories to end. There's a fair few loose ends left at the end of the book, which give me strong suspicions (and hope) that there must surely be a third in the pipeline - in which case I am booking my spot on the blog tour right now!

5/5 stars: Packed with fun, frolics, and an unforgettable cast of characters, Country Affairs is a must-read this summer!
